I adore working with return clients, especially when they’re as amazing as Meg and Garret! I met these two several years ago when I took their family photos right after they had their first baby. I feel like that was just yesterday, now here they are with baby number two! I’ve come to love this sweet family so much.
Meg delivered baby Colter at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Gilbert, Arizona. I have taken photos at this hospital a few times and the staff has always been so kind and accommodating. For both families and photographers, a top-notch hospital makes the experience so much more special and rewarding.
One reason why I love taking fresh 48 photos in the hospital is that we’re able to take some pictures of just mom, dad, and their new baby. Of course, we got some cute shots of Big Brother and the whole family together, but I love giving parents a special moment with their newest family member. Meg looked so stunning, you would never have guessed she’d had a baby less than 24 hours previous. She brought an adorable little nameplate for Colter with the sweetest tiny outfits. It made the photos so unique!
When we were about halfway through the session, Meg and Garret’s oldest came in to meet his new sibling for the first time. He’d been hanging out with his grandma and grandpa and was so excited to meet Colter. There are no words for how precious it was to see this little family spend time together.
It’s these kind of moments when I feel so overwhelmed with gratitude for my job. The sweet interactions between new siblings and the gentleness of newborn life make me teary every time. I hope that as Meg and Garret look back at these photos, they feel the same!
Those first days with a newborn are so tender and sweet. They fly by all too quickly, which is why I love taking photos during that precious time! I feel so honored every time I’m asked to capture these moments because I know just how important they are. I had the best time with Meg, Garret, and their little family!
