Looking back through all the families I’ve photographed, there’s no way I could ever pick just one favorite session. I love all of my clients so much! Having said that, taking pictures for Brooklyn and Bryan just might have changed my mind. I’m slightly biased though, because Brooklyn is one of my very best friends. I just love this little family!
During this session at the Boulders, we took a few family shots as well as pregnancy announcement photos. The little boys actually didn’t know that their mom was expecting yet, so we had to be a little bit sneaky when we pulled out the ultrasound for some of the shots. It took a little bit of extra work, but the pictures we got were perfect.
We took these maternity photos at the Boulders in East Valley. It is a stunning location that’s a little bit of a hidden gem. Because it’s tucked back into the vast desert landscape, it can be tricky to find if you haven’t been there before. It’s a common area for weddings, photoshoots, and even camping. When you’re there, you feel like you’re in a secluded spot, which makes photo sessions feel so special.
One thing I love about this location is that it captures all the beauty Arizona has to offer. Anyone who thinks the desert is flat and boring hasn’t seen the Boulders at sunset. It’s a must-see in my book! Another reason this Phoenix property is amazing is that it has lots of space for littles to play. Brooklyn and Bryan’s little boys just wanted to explore, and they had the freedom to do that here.
Especially when working with little kids, it’s so important to capture the candid moments. The unprompted giggles and hand-holding are what make a family session so special. Little kids are super busy, but they’re also very authentic and genuine. I love snapping photos of those interactions because they usually end up being the pictures you cherish the most.
This whole session was fast, easy, and so much fun. Mini sessions are the perfect way to squeeze a few photos out of your kids before anyone gets too tired. There was so much to love about this session, including good friends, beautiful views, and exciting news. Maternity sessions are so special, and I’m honored to have photographed this one!
