I am so obsessed with this gorgeous bridal and first-look session from last December. I had the absolute best time with Macy and Zach! They are some of the sweetest people I have had the pleasure of working with. Their session could not have been dreamier, starting with the way these two just radiated joy and love for one another. It made my job so easy!
We decided to take Macy and Zach’s first look photos at Butcher Jones Recreation Site near Saguaro Lake. It’s a little bit of a drive from the Mesa area, but it’s so worth it for the views. I love this location for a lot of reasons, one of them being that it has such a unique mix of landscaping. Between the lake, the mountains, and the flourishing cacti, Saguaro Lake is the epitome of all things Arizona.
On the day of our session, everything lined up perfectly to leave us with the dreamiest experience. It started with us lucking out and having the whole location all to ourselves and was just made better by the most perfect weather and a stunning sunset, I really couldn’t have planned it better myself. The water was like glass and the sky looked like a scene from a movie. Talk about my dream session!
Macy and Zach decided to take their bridal and first-look photos before their wedding day, and I’m so glad we did! Not only did that allow us to spend some time in this gorgeous location, but it simplified the timeline of their actual wedding day. I will always advocate for first-look photos on a separate day from the wedding for that reason! It adds variety to your photo album and creates a space for the bride and groom to spend some special time together away from the wedding festivities.
Some of my favorite images from this session are the ones we snapped of Zach and Macy walking hand in hand next to the lake. I love that you can see the whole skyline, but more than that I love how they look at each other while they’re walking. It’s such a sweet moment!
Macy and Zach were absolutely wonderful to work with. Their photos will forever be some of my favorites because of how dreamy the whole session was. I can’t wait to share their wedding photos soon!
