The Rossell family photos were so wonderful to be a part of. I am lucky enough to have known the Rossells for years, and I can tell you that they are some of the best people out there. It was so fun to spend some time with them during our session at Lost Dutchman State Park.
Not only are the Rossells great friends, but they’re also family! Jennifer and I actually met when we were both students at BYUI, and she introduced me to my now-husband. I have watched their sweet family grow over our many years as friends. They just added the little caboose to their crew, and it was so special to take photos of their family of six.
We decided to take the Rossells family photos in the Superstition Mountains in Phoenix, Arizona. This is one of my favorite locations to take family photos in this area! I may be biased, but I think it’s a must-see location if you’re visiting the Phoenix area, whether you’re taking photos or not. The whole state park is filled with absolutely breathtaking views.
One major upside to this area of the Superstition Mountains is that there is lots of space for little ones to run around. The Rossel kids were so excited to run around and check everything out when we got there, and it was great for them to get a few wiggles out before we began. I love capturing families at whatever age and stage they’re currently in, so if that means your kids are a little squirmy during our shoot, that’s totally okay!
We walked up a small hill to get the “money shot” at one of my favorite spots at this location. There are a few areas that are my go-to’s in this part of the park, but this specific one is a must-do. You can see in their photos that the Superstition Mountains make the most stunning backdrop for this sweet family.
At the end of all my family sessions, I like to grab a few shots of Mom and Dad without the kids. For the Rossells, I even held their littlest one on my hip so we could make the photos happen. It’s so fun to capture a few special moments of couples in their own little bubble. They always end up being some of my favorite images!
As always, being with the Rossells was such a treat. They are a beautiful family, and their photos turned out just perfect.
